You’ve reached gaborpeterdi.info, an interactive site honoring the legacy of artist Gabor Peterdi.

Nothing here is for sale. Everything may be shared—hopefully with appropriate attribution. When a post or comment suggests it, we may link to related dealers or galleries, but this is not a commercial or marketing site. We are building a documentary—always a work in progress.

To get started, we’re posting selected archival material from queries Peterdi already answered. If you see it here, someone has specifically asked about it.

Although some published reviews may contain them, we want to avoid value judgments, criticism, politics of the art world, and the like. We request our readers do the same, and this is one reason we’ll monitor what can be published.

We’ll do our best to provide reliable answers to reasonable inquiries.
We look forward to your comments. Welcome in.

 notes:
the family used to own an old farmhouse in the village of Csobánka [Hungary]. There, as in many other parts of the world, crimson poppies blanket country meadows in late spring—as far as the eye can see. This motif appears in many of Peterdi’s paintings, drawings, and prints.   §§§
